Thursday afternoon is set aside for preparation and training, beginning at 13:00.

We also need all Team Builders to remain onsite until 15:00 on Monday 30th August to help with packdown.

Team Builders typically serve one shift per day which averages out at 4-5 hours per day over the four days of the event, Friday - Monday. See below for differences with specific teams.

Each day of the event, there is a daily Team Meeting at 08:30 which we expect all Team Builders to attend.

TEAM BUILDER BENEFITS

Personal Information

All the information you give us in this form will be stored and used in line with our GDPR policy.

Nearer the event, once you have been allocated to a specific Team, some of your information will be shared securely and confidentially with your Team Leader(s), so that they are able to contact you before the event and to consider which roles within the Team are most appropriate for you.

You may also be invited to join a Team Builder WhatsApp Community, and a Team-specific WhatsApp Group, but these groups are optional and you won't be added automatically.

Age should be 16 or greater as of August 25th, 2027

Safeguarding

In line with our Safeguarding Policy we ask everyone on Team to declare any previous criminal convictions, or active safeguarding allegations, even if the nature of the conviction or allegation is not directly relevant to their role at DT27.

If the answer is yes, we'll need you to provide additional information. It will help us if you can give us as much detail as possible about the date and nature of the offence.

It is also our policy to take up an annual reference for anyone who discloses a prior criminal conviction.

Team Builder Experience

Team Choices

Accessible Campsite

Our Accessible Campsite is a warm and welcoming place with its own community space. It gives easy access to the Arena Field for people with mobility issues.

We'd love friendly practical people to apply for this team. You may need to help with setting up and taking down tents, but there is no personal care involved. Nevertheless, it will help if you have some experience of working in a care profession, and you'll need to have a current enhanced DBS, dated on or after 30 August 2024.

Art

The Art Team works in a variety of roles, from creating personal prophetic art for delegates to hosting the art space in the big top. Prophetic art training will be provided. We welcome applications from people of all skill levels.

Art Team Builders are automatically allocated a space in the big top to create during worship outside their shifts.

If you'd like to serve on a different team you can still sign up as a 'Guest Artist' to create in the big top - via the main DT website.

Café

The DT Café is an amazing community space at the heart of the event!

Do you have barista experience and love making great coffee? Or do you have general hospitality skills and love meeting new people and helping them have a good time? Then we'd love to have you apply to join our Café crew!

Children and Youth

We'd love you to volunteer to serve our younger delegates at David's Tent. It's such a joy to see God move in their lives!

Previous experience working with children or young people is required for all of these teams. You'll also need to have a current enhanced DBS (or overseas equivalent) dated on or after 30 August 2024, and provide us with details of two referees who have supervised you in a relevant role.

Teams include: Toddlers; Children; Youth; Children's Registration.

Finance

The Finance Team works behind the scenes, supporting the different areas of the even which have a retail or donation element. Relevant experience is required for this team - you can give us details later in the form.

First Contact / Welcome

Our heart is to ensure that everyone attending DT has a great time from the second they arrive onsite! Could you be part of ensuring the warm welcome we want to give? We'd love to have you on one of our First Contact / Welcome Teams - Parking or Campsite.

Directing people to the right place, parking cars and helping with getting tents sorted out is not glamorous but it's a beautiful part of our DT hospitality. A friendly smile and practical help as people are arrive can make a massive difference to someone's experience of the whole event.

Hosting and Hospitality

Do you have good hospitality skills and enjoy looking after people in practical ways?

If so one of our Hosting and Hospitality Teams could suit you well.

Glamping Hosts look after delegates in the Glamping Village, whilst the Team Builder Hosts care for the Team in our communal space in the team campsite. We also have a small hospitality team supporting exhibitors in the Resource Tent.

Registration

Do you like working with people, giving them a warm welcome and solving problems to give them a better day? If so, volunteering on our Registration Team could suit you well.

The Registration Team looks after two spaces - first registering people as they arrive onsite and then overseeing customer service and access to the arena field. We'll be open 24/7 so it would be great if you could consider volunteering for one night shift.

Retail

Do you have retail experience and would like to help out on the DT Merch stand in the Resource Tent. If so, we'd love to hear from you!

Set Up and Tear Down

We give priority to people who have served on this team before, but you can let us know whether you would like to be considered if a space becomes available.

The Set Up and Tear Down Team helps with all the practical tasks needed to get the site ready before the event and then pack down at the end.

You need to be physically fit to be on the Set Up and Tear Down Team. You'll also need to be able to arrive by 11am on Wednesday 25th August and stay until 6pm on Monday 30th August.

Stewards

Our large Stewards team plays a vital 24/7 role during the event, welcoming people into the various tents and venues and staffing key access points around the site.

Over the weekend you'll be rotated through different stations. If you opt for Stewards as one of your choices it will be super helpful if you could consider volunteering to do one late or overnight shift.

Stocks and Supplies

Do you have attention to detail and good customer service skills? If so, you may like to join our small Stocks & Supplies Team which supports the operations throughout the event.

Some shopping runs may be required so it will be helpful if you are willing to use your own car for this purpose. (DT will pay for fuel).

Technical Support

Do you enjoy using your tech skills in worship? Then one of our Technical Support Teams could be for you! Previous relevant experience is needed for all these teams.

Sound - This team operates 24/7 looking after the sound needs of our overnight stage and all venues outside the main tent. It will help if you are willing to do at least one overnight shift.

Stage - This team supports DT's professional company with set changeovers on the main stage.

Words - This team sets up and projects lyrics during worship in the big top. It operates 24/7 so you will need to be willing to do one overnight shift to serve on this team.

SHIFT TIMES

Days are divided up into shifts - Morning, Afternoon, Evening (which can run as late as midnight) and Overnight.

Specific timings vary between the different teams. Team Builders will normally be assigned different shift times on different days and serve for an average of 4-5 hours per day over the 4 days of the event.

Since DT is a 24/7 event, we'll need people on some Teams (Registration, Stewards, Sound and Words) to do an overnight shift.

Arrival and Departure

Team Arrival and Departure Times

Thursday 26th August - All Team Builders need to arrive on site by about 11am to get set up in time for our first Team Meeting at 1pm followed by essential team-specific training in the afternoon.  (If the distance you're travelling from means it will be impossible for you to arrive on time if you travel on Thursday morning, then you can arrive on Wednesday evening, AFTER 5pm.)

Monday 30th August - We ask you stay onsite until 3pm to help with packdown.

Wednesday Arrival

If you're travelling from overseas or from a distance within the UK which means that it will be IMPOSSIBLE for you to arrive on time if you leave home on Thursday morning (i.e. more than 4 hours' drive away or ridiculous public transport times), then it will be possible for you to arrive on Wednesday evening after 17:00 (and before 19:30).

If you do arrive on Wednesday evening, we'll be grateful for some help on Thursday morning.

Getting To Know You

Accommodation

It is your responsibility to make your own arrangements for camping or offsite accommodation

All Team Builders are allocated a space in the Team Build Village.

There is no additional charge for this.

  • You can bring your own tent; or
  • You can bring a campervan or caravan. If you want to purchase electrical hook up you can do this when you pay the balance for your ticket; or
  • You can reserve a pre-erected tent or a glamping tent. Pre-erected tents will be put up on the Team Campsite; glamping tents will be in the glamping area, but you'll still be able to use the Team Lounge. These options must be booked and paid for separately on the main website. Please email [email protected] for more information. Because we use external suppliers, the Team Builder discount does not apply to these purchases.

  • (You must provide your own tent and camping equipment. Glamping/rented tents can be purchased separately if you don't have your own)

  • (You will need to arrange your own accommodation)

Serving on Team with Children or Dependents

Health & Dietary Requirements

The reason we ask for this information is so that we are aware of any physical or mental health conditions that may flare up onsite.

We want to be able to look after you well and to ensure that we assign you to an appropriate team.

References

David's Tent's Safeguarding policy requires us to ask you for the names and contact details of two people who can provide a reference for you if required.

These people should be in some kind or position of responsibility towards you AND have CURRENT experience of working with you in a volunteering or employment setting. For example, you can ask a Church Minister, Pastor or Leader, a Volunteer Coordinator, Small Group Leader or Employer to be your referee.

Your referees should NOT be related to you in any way. This means that if your spouse, parent, adult child or girl/boyfriend is also your pastor, home group leader, worship pastor etc. you CANNOT use them as your referee. Please ask someone else.

You also can't ask someone who is simply your friend to be a referee. But it is fine, for example, if you consider your pastor to be your friend as well as your pastor. (When you ask them to be your referee, please make sure you let them know you are asking them because of their role and not simply on the basis of your friendship).

You must provide accurate email addresses and phone numbers for both of these referees. If you do not provide this information, we will not be able to take your application forward. Thank you for your understanding.

Emergency Contact

IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PAY YOUR DEPOSIT!

We have been experiencing occasional issues with some credit/debit cards where the card issuer requires Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). For some reason these card issuers are not sending automatic prompts about authentication. This issue is to do with the way banks operate and is beyond our control.

To try to prevent this happening, please make sure that you remove any pop-ups blockers from your computer BEFORE making payment.

If, when you hit 'Let's Do This' below, you just see a whirring wheel and it doesn't give you a cheery completion message, this is a sign there is a problem!

If this happens, please IMMEDIATELY check your online banking app to see if there is an authentication request waiting for you. This should resolve the issue and allow your payment to proceed.

If this doesn't work, please try a different card. (We're so sorry that you will need to fill out the form again!) You won't be charged twice. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
