Team Builder Experience

Team Choices

Accessible Campsite

Our Accessible Campsite is a warm and welcoming place with its own community space. It gives easy access to the arena field for delegates with mobility issues.

We'd love friendly practical people to apply for this team. You may ned to help delegates with setting up and taking tents but there is no personal care involved at all. Nevertheless, it will help if you have some experience of working in a care profession, and you'll need to have a current DBS.

Art

Our 2024 prophetic Art Team is now full!

You can still apply to be on a different team and bring your equipment to create during worship in the Main Tent outside your Team Builder shifts. You can sign up for this at the event.

Café

The DT Café is an amazing community space at the heart of the event!

Do you have barista experience and love making great coffee? Or do you enjoy hospitality generally, meeting new people and helping them to have a great time? Then we'd love you to apply to join our Café crew!

Children and Youth

We love seeing God move among our younger delegates!

Previous experience working with children or young people is required for all of these teams. You'll also need to have a current DBS (or overseas equivalent) dated on or after 21 August 2021, and provide us with details of a referee who has supervised you in a relevant role.

Teams include: Toddlers (0-4); David's Tent Kids (DTK) (5-11); Youth (12-18); Children's Registration.

Customer Service

Do you like working with people, giving them a warm welcome and helping to solve problems to give them a better day? If so, one of our Customer Service Teams could suit you well. A welcoming smile and listening ear can make someone's day!

Teams include: Registration, Resource Tent, Retail and Control Centre.

Finance

The Finance Team works behind the scenes, supporting the different areas of the event which have a retail or donation element. Relevant experience is required for this team. (You can give us details later in the form).

Hosting and Hospitality

Our Hosting and Hospitality Teams look after delegates, team members and worship leaders in practical ways during the event - everything from making drinks and making communal spaces welcoming, to giving lifts and doing shopping runs.

Teams include: Glamping Hosts, Team Builder Hosts, Night Lounge Hosts and Drivers.

Practical Support

Are you fit and active? Enjoy working with people to ensure a warm welcome? Then we'd love to have you on one of our Practical Support Teams.

Teams Include: Campsite and Car Park.

If you're assigned to Campsite, you'll be super busy on Friday so we'll give you a whole day off on Saturday or Sunday to compensate.

Set Up & Tear Down

The Set Up and Tear Down Team helps with all the practical tasks needed to get the site ready and then pack down again at the end of the event, so you need to be reasonably physically fit to be on this team.

You'll also need to be able to arrive early (by 11:00 on Wednesday 21st August) and stay late (until 17:00 on Monday 26th August). You'll be free for most of Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the event.

Stewards

Our large Stewards team plays a vital 24/7 role during the event, welcoming people into the various tents and venues and staffing key access points.

Over the weekend you'll be rotated through different stations around the site.

Technical Support

Do you have experience using your tech skills in worship? We'd love to have you apply to join one of our Technical Support Teams:

Stage - helping DT's professional company with set changeovers on the main stage.
Song Words - setting up and projecting lyrics during main stage sets.
Sound - this team operates 24/7 looking after the sound needs of our overnight stage and all venues outside the main tent.

Video

The Video Team is responsible for creating content that can be used by David's Tent to promote the event throughout the year. Previous experience is required, as is having your own equipment which facilitates filming at between 1080p and 4k resolution. All content will be licensed to David's Tent, but you will be able to use it for your own channels in addition, subject to prior approval. Please note that the Video Team is part of our wider Technical Support Team.

SHIFT TIMES

Days are divided up into shifts - Morning, Afternoon, Evening (which can run as late as 23:30) and Overnight.

Specific timings vary between the different teams. Team Builders will normally be assigned different shift times on different days and serve for an average of 4-5 hours per day over the 4 days of the event.

Since DT is a 24/7 event, we'll need people on some Teams (e.g. Stewards, Sound and Bonfire) to do an overnight shift.

Arrival and Departure

Team Arrival and Departure Times

Thursday 22nd August - All Team Builders need to arrive on site by noon to get set up in time for our first Team Meeting at 13:00 followed by essential team-specific training in the afternoon.  (If the distance you're travelling from means it will be impossible for you to arrive on time if you travel on Thursday morning, then you can arrive on Wednesday evening, AFTER 17:00.)

Monday 26th August - We ask you stay onsite until 15:00 to help with packdown.

Wednesday Arrival

If you're travelling from a distance which means that it will be impossible for you to arrive on time if you leave home on Thursday morning, then it will be possible for you to arrive on Wednesday evening after 17:00 (and before 21:00). Thank you for your understanding that it is really difficult to accommodate lots of people onsite before this time. If you choose this option, we'll be grateful for some help on Thursday morning.

We also need a small team of about 10 people (in addition to the Set Up Team) to arrive on Wednesday morning and help out with welcoming Team Leaders on Wednesday afternoon and Team Builders on Thursday morning (e.g. showing them where to park and pitch their tents). If you are able to do this, we'll provide you with dinner on Wednesday evening and lunch on Thursday.

Getting To Know You

Accommodation

It is your responsibility to make your own arrangements for camping or offsite accommodation

If you're camping onsite, you will be able to camp in our designated Team Campsite.

There is no additional charge for this.

  • You can bring a tent, campervan or caravan

Please note: There are no electrical hook-up facilities on the Team Campsite. If you need electrical hook-up, you'll need book and pay for this separately on the main website. You'll be given a spot on the main campsite, but you'll still be able to use the Team Lounge.

  • If you don't have a tent or campervan, you can reserve a pre-erected tent or a glamping tent.

Pre-erected tents will be put up on the Team Campsite; glamping tents will be in the glamping area, but you'll still be able to use the Team Lounge. These options must be booked and paid for separately on the main website. Because we use external suppliers, the Team Builder discount does not apply to these purchases.

  • (You must provide your own tent and camping equipment. Glamping/rented tents can be purchased separately if you don't have your own)

  • (You will need to arrange your own accommodation)

IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PAY YOUR DEPOSIT!

We have been experiencing occasional issues with some credit/debit cards where the card issuer requires Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). For some reason these card issuers are not sending automatic prompts about authentication. This issue is to do with the way banks operate and is beyond our control.

To try to prevent this happening, please make sure that you remove any pop-ups blockers from your computer BEFORE making payment.

If, when you hit 'Let's Do This' below, you just see a whirring wheel and it doesn't give you a cheery completion message, this is a sign there is a problem!

If this happens, please IMMEDIATELY check your online banking app to see if there is an authentication request waiting for you. This should resolve the issue and allow your payment to proceed.

If this doesn't work, please try a different card. (We're so sorry that you will need to fill out the form again!) You won't be charged twice. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
